Indivisible No. Quabbin Stand Outs Continue – Sat., Aug. 2nd from 11-12 noon

A bit long, but it is important -- Please Review and Pass Along to Friends who Attend Stand Outs in Orange  -- Important Reminders about being part of Indivisible North Quabbin

A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. We want participants to welcome new people as we build bridges to protect our democracy and fight back peacefully.  This includes not getting into verbal confrontations with others.  Some people may also find some signs offensive in terms of language.  Please keep this in mind as you make your signs.  It is important to remember that we are working to build a diverse movement of people for the long haul.

At all Indivisible North Quabbin events -- de-escalate by refusing to shout, argue or react aggressively.   Many people who Stand Out each week feel that we need to do a better job working to de-escalate confrontations and figure out better ways to have inclusive and nonviolent Stand Outs.  We should feel proud that 80-90 or more people are present every week.  The Indivisible North Quabbin Steering Committee of eleven people needs everyone’s help who attends Stand Outs.  Talk to a new person about the work of Indivisible and our work to organize non-violently on many fronts including at all Stand Outs.

ONE MILLION RISING FOR STRATEGIC NON-COOPERATION - NEXT SESSION TONIGHT.  If you cannot attend they are recorded.  Find another person at the Stand Out who is working on small gatherings of neighbors and friends in the coming month. What Trump is doing is dangerous. But it is not new or unique. We’ve seen authoritarians consolidate power in other countries, and we can learn from what people there did to fight back. The One Million Rising initiative is holding seminars throughout the summer, preparing local leaders to launch community resistance groups that will engage in this vital work. Here’s how we can join:

1.  The second One Million Rising session, focused on tactics, is TONIGHT at 8PM! Go to https://www.nokings.org/rise

2.   For those of us who missed the first session reviewing where we are and the overall strategy, we can watch a recording https://www.nokings.org/rise
3.   And if we’re ready to commit to hosting a local gathering in the first two weeks of August, we can find a host toolkit https://www.nokings.org/rise

Other Events in Region
Saturday, August 2 starting at 1:45 at Silver Lake in Athol --  MassDems Chair Steve Kerrigan will arrive around 2 PM.  Bring a chair if possible.  Everyone is invited to see what the Democratic Party is doing. Questions welcome to find out what is happening.
