NO KINGS 2

Thank you to  all who attended the No Kings2 on October 18th in Orange.  600-700 people attended the Stand Out and Rally.  Thank you to musicians, speakers and all who stood with their neighbors on a beautiful day.

We will continue the weekly Stand Outs on Saturdays from 11-12.  We also want to get people involved in the working committees that include people working on Voting Issues, Community Outreach & Self-Sufficiency, Communication, Rapid Response Network, Education/Training forums, and perhaps an events committee.  There will be sign up tables for these committees this Saturday at Memorial Park.

The Community Outreach & Self-Sufficiency group did a great job with the non-perishable food/personal items collection.  The van was full when it left Memorial Park on Saturday.  By Monday morning the food was split 50/50 between the Orange program and the ARRSD Family and Community Center Food Pantry.  Everyone was grateful to get items.  Beside the theme of No Kings2, the theme of mutual aid and "Neighbors Working with Neighbors" was highlighted by  Jessica and Veronica who spoke at the rally.

People shared many photos on Facebook, but we hope to also get some posted on nqindivisible.blogspot.com soon.  Link to Mitch Grotsky article and photos posted on Facebook -- https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BM1fwpZYq/?mibextid=wwXIfr
We hope that many people will join and work with a working committee.  Remember it can be writing postcards from home, helping organize educational forums about the Federal cuts to programs, art activities, concerts, joining the Rapid Response Network, work on mutual aid for this region, or other continuing work to protect Democracy and build a better world for all.  Email indivisiblenorthquabbin@gmail.com if you want to work with one of the committees.
In Solidarity,
Indivisible No. Quabbin - indivisiblenorthquabbin@gmail.com

Indivisible.org and Indivisible No. Quabbin is part of a national network.  A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events.  This is based on commitment to nonviolent action.  We want participants to welcome new people as we build bridges to protect our democracy and fight back peacefully.  This includes verbal confrontation with others.  Some people may also find some signs offensive in terms of language.  Please keep this in mind as you make your signs.  It is important to remember that we are working to build a diverse movement of people for the long haul.
