Below are links where you can find other events in the region.  This is not a full listing, but it should get you started on finding other happenings in the region and some that you can do at home.

A Few Events You Can Do from Home --

The De-ICE Hanscom Coalition has long had the goal of forcing ICE to stop using Hanscom Airfield. But now they have new leverage: it is very clear that immigrants are being rapidly flown out of Hanscom to prevent them from obtaining effective legal representation. This is a clear violation of the US Constitution, and MassPort can cite that violation in turning ICE out of Hanscom. Write to Massport’s Board at WrittenPublicComments@Massport.com to demand that they end their complicity with ICE. You can also register for their next meeting by asking remoteAccess@Massport.com for the link.

2.      Take Action to Get 3 Immigration Bills Passed in Massachusetts
From L.A. to Portland, to Chicago, to Charlotte, NC, Cruelty is being pushed out! On Tuesday, November 25th, during a week when many are traveling and preparing for holiday events, 3 important pieces of immigration legislation were scheduled for hearings at our State House Your voice and attention can urge these bills down the path toward becoming laws that keep us all better protected! Join hundreds of others in coalition to prevail for our safety and peace!

Support
Safe Communities Act (S.1681/H.2580): Would prevent local law enforcement from acting as ICE deputies.
Dignity Not Deportation Act  (S.1122/H.1588): Would limit cruel deportation practices and end Massachusetts’ complicity.
Immigrant Legal Defense Ac(S.1127/H.1954): Fund would provide no cost legal services to income qualifying Massachusetts residents facing deportation.

Oppose
Bad Bill – SHIELD Act (S.1096/H.2009): Would force local law enforcement to comply with ICE, undoing protections. (Not “Location Shield” Act)

Working Groups Continue the Work During these cold days of winter

Voting Team -- Join with them to do important work:

"The INQ Voting Team has been hard at work on postcards, voter registration and voter suppression. It  is important that we keep up the momentum during the winter months. One action that you can take is to commit to writing a postcard packet 2-3 times a month. We write postcards to swing states while watching TV or during a coffee break. The packets are available at Stage on Main in December (Tue-Sat 10-6; Sun 12-4); it is closed in Jan and you can contact us at indivisiblenorthquabbin@gmail.com about where to get the postcards. A packet costs $10 for 15 postcards (the money goes to more stamps and postcards). "Did you know that 60% of unregistered voters have never been asked to register? Attached is an explainer about how we chose these particular postcards to send: in a nutshell, the addresses are to people from blue areas who don't have cell phones or email so they aren't so inundated with political messaging. Studies have shown that 20% of the people who have received these postcards register as Democrats and show up to vote. So far, INQ has sent 1000 postcards since the spring, so theoretically that would gain 200 new Democratic votes!"

Attached is the explainer regarding the Voting Team's Work.

Reminder from  Peacekeeper Working Group --

INQ is hosting a PeaceKeeper focus group on 12/13/25 from 12:15-1:30 following our weekly Stand Out. If you like the idea of being a Peacekeeper  but aren't certain what the expectations are.....this is your chance not only to hear and learn about the role but to have some input into helping us design interactive learning modules that will work best for you.

Mutual Aid and COSS --

Several people from Indivisible North Quabbin volunteered and helped the Orange Food Pantry with pop-up food distribution  outside at their new site before they opened along with helping get donations of food.  After a great deal of hard work, the Orange Food Pantry will be able to serve people inside the new site on E. River St. (across from Butterfield Park).   Congratulations to staff and volunteers who helped make this happen.

Other Events -- There will be a gathering in January for everyone after a Stand Out (12:15) with lunch and discussion as we all go forward in the New Year!  Watch for details coming soon.
