Indivisible North Quabbin News – Now is the time for Next Steps

Join together for Stand Outs and Also think about ways to do more!

The Orange Stand Outs will continue each Saturday from 11-12noon (next one is Aug. 16th)  We continue to have about 80 people in attendance at Stand Outs.  Thank you to everyone who attends and helps make these peaceful events.    This is a non-violent action that helps to increase visibility and hopefully get new people to join us.  It also gives us  a chance to talk to neighbors as we plan to do more.

On Saturday, Aug. 30th, the Steering Committee will meet at the park at 9:30 and everyone coming to Stand Outs is invited to attend and bring their ideas about going forward and getting more people involved in doing more.  The Community Outreach & Self-Sufficiency Working Group will be at the 4th Friday event in Athol on August 22nd, and the Rapid Response Network Town Coordinators will meet on August 29th.  Other working groups are doing research and starting to plan possible public forums for the region.  If you want to help with any of these projects email us at indivisiblenorthquabbin@gmail.com or see https://nqindivisible.blogspot.com.

Two Community Resistance Gatherings happened in the North Quabbin region this week.   Several people coming to Stand Outs attended a community resistance gathering.  More are being planned for Orange and other towns in the North Quabbin.  For information on previous One Million Rising trainings and host packets see www.nokings.org/rise.

Indivisible.org -- Indivisible No. Quabbin is part of a national network.  All these are based on commitment to nonviolent action.  For Indivisible North Quabbin along with other Indivisible groups, we expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.  We want participants to welcome new people as we build bridges to protect our democracy and fight back peacefully.  This includes verbal confrontation with others.  Some people may find some signs offensive in terms of language.  Please keep this in mind as you make your signs.  It is important to remember that we are working to build a diverse movement of people for the long haul.
